New look, new tenants, bright future
The Morden Dance Group is among the new tenants participating in renovation of the 182 Garden Office Park, an old complex that once housed small factories, clothes stalls, car washes and repair workshops.
The ensemble plans to create a dance studio and small theater at the site.
“The park is now more than 60 percent occupied,” said Lu Jianxin, vice manager of the redevelopment company. “We want to transform it into a creative park.”
The site also offers office space for companies, providing a low-density, comfortable environment.
It is a pilot program to turn the old factories along the Qixin Road to more profitable commercial properties, according to Lu.
He hopes it will set a good example for the other phased-out factories in the business transformation.
