Noble bequest
AN older couple living in the Gumei Community recently signed a body donation agreement at the offices of the Shanghai Red Cross. The couple said they hoped their example would encourage others to do the same. Their names will be carved on the Monument of Body Donators in the Shanghai Fushou Garden cemetery. The government has been trying to convince more people to leave their bodies to science, which goes against traditional burial beliefs. The couple said their children accepted their decision after initial opposition.
