Professional opera performers from the Shanghai Song and Dance Ensemble recently staged 18 shows at Shanghai City Theater. The Minhang Education Bureau used the occasions to give students a cultural experience. Almost 20,000 students from 50 middle schools attended the performances, which included actors appearing off-stage to introduce the art of Chinese opera to the young people.
