Petland opens new outlet and ready for more
PETLAND China recently opened a new outlet on Xingmei Road in Minhang District. The United States' pet company has three outlets in Shanghai, two in Minhang and the other in Changning.
"We are pleased with the success Petland China has seen in the past year and excited to see its expansion. Petland China has had an incredible impact on overall pet retailing and is quickly becoming a market leader," said Petland President Frank Difatta.
Despite some cultural differences between American and Chinese consumers, the basics of customer service, animal care and presentation have universal appeal. All three of the Shanghai locations include grooming services and the Huanghua Road outlet also houses a boarding facility.
"We are thrilled to bring the Petland experience to China and to uphold the company's mission of matching the right pet with the right person and meeting the needs of both," said Charlie Lu, Petland China's master franchisor.
"In China, more and more people love and keep pets, especially in Shanghai, Beijing and other big cities. Pet owners want to buy things for pets in well-stocked and clean stores," said Tina Yang, an operator of a pet store. "Our customers give high praise to the shop's design and display, the diversity of the merchandising and animal knowledge."
Petland China plans to open more Petland outlets this year, including two or three Petland Express stores.
Petland Inc is a franchise operation with more than 200 quality retail pet centers across the United States, Canada, Japan, China, and South Africa. It is ranked among Entrepreneur magazine's "Franchise 500."
