MINHANG has been listed among trial districts for a new preschool education campaign by the Ministry of Education, which is trying to improve the delivery of kindergarten programs, identify the government's role and responsibilities in that process and build up a public service network to aid the programs.
Among others in the program are the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Heilongjiang and specific cities and prefectures in Liaoning and Gansu provinces and the autonomous regions of Tibet and Xinjiang Uygur.
The ministry aims to upgrade preschool education and how it's managed, including more teacher training, bilingual education and improvement of services to poorer areas.
