A rescue team formed by about 20 volunteers has been patrolling rivers in the district to prevent drowning accidents through the summer season. They will be on duty until the end of September. Volunteers also advise children against swimming in dangerous river areas and provide information to them on public swimming pools. The district government said drowning is the biggest killer of children during summer holidays.
