THE Minhang Library donated more than 1,000 magazines to schools in underdeveloped areas of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwest China as part of a humanitarian campaign orchestrated by local volunteer Qiu Pingwei. Qiu has been working for years to improve the education and living conditions of children in the impoverished inland Chinese province. Library staff also donated 100 books to the cause.
