Science park gets IT update

MINHANG'S Zizhu Science Park will install the latest in information technology, according to a recent deal signed between its operator and Shanghai Telecom.
The park will be covered by a fiberoptic network that will operate at speeds of 1,000 megabits per second and will feature a wireless network. Shangha Telecom will also provide an intelligent security-monitoring system, an environmental pollution alarm system and a smart card system to the park, according
to the agreement.
As one of the biggest technology industrial zones of Shanghai, Zizhu Science has been playing an important role in promoting the economic growth of both Minhang and Shanghai.
Its stockholders include the Shanghai Zijiang Group, Jiao Tong University and the Minhang District government. The park focuses on the development of six major industries: integrated circuitry and software development, advanced industrial materials, biological sciences, green energy, aerospace and cartoon games.
