MANY old people in Huacao Town may feel happy about getting a piece of good news: the traditional storytelling stages which gradually disappeared in the past several years were reopened in early May in Jiwang Town and Zhuzhai Town of Huacao.
The two stages were reconstructed from the original community activity rooms of these two towns. The reconstruction cost was all paid by the Huacao Town Government, and the Cultural Center of Huacao Town has helped improve the quality of the stages. As well, the government also invites members of Shanghai Pingtan Troupe to offer regular performance on these two stages.
