YOU are probably behind the times if still addicted to Internet games and a stranger to board games. This kind of radiation-free game is gaining momentum among young people. The current evolution of chess dates back to the 15th century but many more games have joined the board game family. And we invite you for a taste.
Huimin Board Games Shop
The shop, which doesn't allow smoking, covers 50 square meters. The boss will put tables out of the shop for games if the weather permits.
More than 60 games are available in the shop, including UNO, Manila, and China Town. New ones keep coming in. The games are also on sale, with prices as low as those on taobao.com.
The shop serves water and soft drinks, but you can bring your own snacks and soft drinks. Customers can also borrow books.
On workdays, the charge is 20 yuan (US$2.92); at weekends 30 yuan. You can get a membership card for 100 yuan a month, and enjoy a 50 percent discount at weekends with the card. A discount coupon can be downloaded at www.dianping.com.

Set up by two college students, the shop integrates magic with board games. The charge on workdays is 18 yuan for a day; at weekends it is 10 yuan an hour or 30 yuan a day. This month customers can get a 20 percent discount.
As a professional magician and a member of Shanghai Magician Association, shop owner Mr Yan can perform more than 100 magic tricks. And he will start magic training lessons soon.
