TRAFFIC police in Minhang suggest residents use public transportation to go to the Cloud Nine Shopping Mall in Xinzhuang to ease severe traffic congestion, particularly on weekends. The popular mall opened in July in an area that was already a major transport hub in the district. Traffic lanes are narrow and bus stops plentiful.
The mall, at the intersection of Xinsong, Humin, Xinjian and Xindong roads, has a parking lot with space for only 600 vehicles. Police have dispatched more traffic personnel to the area to crack down on illegal parking and other congestion-causing problems. Local authorities said they are working on a more permanent solution.
