Villagers join cooperative industry zone

COMMUNITY Shareholding Cooperative of Xinzhuang Industrial Zone received a business license to start operations recently.
Altogether 7,057 villagers joined the cooperative with a total capital of 112 million yuan (US$16.37 million). Nearly 72 percent of village households in the industrial zone joined the cooperative.
Five villages out of six in the industrial zone joined the program. Villagers in Qunli refused to join as their net assets are in the red.
Sun Chao, Minhang District Party secretary, Chen Xuejun, deputy director of Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau and Yan Zuqiang, deputy director of Minhang District, attended the opening ceremony.
The industrial zone paid 244 million yuan for land compensation, 127 million yuan for collective asset compensation, a subsidy of 38.4 million yuan and 25.47 million yuan for other issues.
