TRAFFIC lanes on Xindong Road have been expanded from four to five to ease the severe congestion around the Cloud Nine Shopping Mall in Xinzhuang.
The road-widening project on a 200-meter stretch began in November between Xinjian Road to the south and Xinsong Road to the north.
The mall, which opened in July, is in an area that was already a major transport hub.
Congestion is compounded by a hospital, bank, supermarket, businesses and residential complexes in the vicinity and by narrow traffic lanes.
