‘Charity bank’

In Changshou subdistrict, there is a “charity bank” where volunteers can save their hours of work and exchange them for small prizes and medals.
In two years, more than 600 people participated in this program, recording more than 5,000 hours of volunteer work. Each neighborhood has a branch of the charity bank.
The stamps are given according to the work done, such as one stamp for every hour working in general services and two stamps for every hour working at calligraphy classes, reading clubs and choirs.
The charity bank has encouraged many young people to take part in community service, especially those with specific skills.
