District hosts important broadcast meeting

Industry leaders from China鈥檚 radio, audio and Internet companies gathered in Putuo District late last month for the 2018 China Voice Conference.
The two-day conference, held at the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Center of International Sourcing, included forums and interactive experiences for audiences to showcase and explore the development prospect of the audio industries.
As a highlight of the conference, 10 best practices and cases on the innovation and integrated development of China鈥檚 radio industry have been picked up and awarded.
Over 100 radio stations nationwide took part in the selection campaign and contributed over 240 development cases.
A summit forum themed 鈥淣ew radio, new communication and new value鈥 was also held at the conference. Executives of Chinese radio stations and companies were invited to make keynote speeches and took part in a roundtable conference to discuss the future development of radio programs.
China鈥檚 audio industry achieved a new round of rapid development in 2017. With the approaching of 5G era, the industry is facing new development models and opportunities this year, according to the organizers of the conference.
Apart from professional discussions, the event has also arranged a number of cutting-edge facilities for audiences to experience the new development of the audio industry. They included intelligent earphones, household sound systems and innovative audio products.
The conference was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Media Group and Putuo District where the event was held.
Putuo has along emphasized the development of cultural industries, including the Internet film, electronic sports and audio industries.
As one of the key agendas, the district government aims to drive the rapid development of the audio industry.
The conference Putuo hosted with the SMG was also part of the efforts to create an international and professional platforms for the creation, incubation, communication, exhibition and promotion of the excellent audio products, according to the district government.
The district has released an industrial guideline with preferential policies to support the development of the audio industry while better training the related professionals.
Government support and subsidies will be awarded to influential and reputed audio companies based in Putuo.
The district also aims to further attract Internet film companies.
It has listed the Internet film industry as one of five major businesses for its economic transformation and upgrading.
A lot of supportive policies have been released covering the full industrial chain, such as talent training, content production, distribution, postproduction and derivatives development.
Furthermore, it also aims to develop the electronic sports industry.
The under-development Caojiadu e-sports center will cap the city鈥檚 ambition to become the global e-sports capital, and the strong culture and history along Suzhou Creek will be further developed to make the creek a shining cultural brand of Putuo, the district government said.
