Laboratory to work on pioneering chemistry

A key national laboratory for polyolefin catalysts and high performance materials has opened in Putuo.
It is the fourth nation-level platform for research and development in science and technology in the district.
The lab will serve as a comprehensive platform for the chemical industry, colleges and research institutes to facilitate researches in the area of polymerization and catalysts, and to commercialize such technologies into products.
The the lab will not only improve domestic innovation capabilities as well as scientific and technological skills in polyolefin catalysts and high performance materials, but also assist in ground-breaking work in the polyolefin sector in core technologies.
The lab will help foster professional talents for relevant enterprises.
Putuo will continue to strengthen its ties and collaboration with local colleges, universities and research institutes.
It will also further develop the “One Axis, Two Wings” layout with an aim to build Wuning Road into an focal point for innovation and development.
In the past few years, Putuo officials have been working to create a public service system to fully support makers and enterprises in a bid to strengthen the partnerships with the municipal government and neighboring districts and bolster the development of regional high-tech industries.
