Scenic spot on creek to be tourism destination
THE development of the Suzhou Creek International Leisure Travel Open Scenic Spot is meant to further integrate the creative industry cluster along the banks of the creek and transform 18 twists and turns of the creek into leading tourism destinations.
Those locations on Suzhou Creek include Changshouwan, Panjiawan, Changhuawan, Tanziwan and Mengqingwan.
The open scenic spot will let the visitors experience Suzhou Creek on boats, and enjoy shopping and sightseeing along the waterfront.
Changshou Business Zone, Changfeng Ecological Business Hub and Changzheng Zhonghuan Commerce Zone will be the three highlights while Global Harbor becomes a new destination for travel, shopping and dining.
One-day and half-day travel trips on Suzhou Creek will be opened in the future.
The district will accelerate the construction of an industrial art center connected to Badan Road Cruise Terminal. They will expand the cruise service on Suzhou Creek to meet the needs of travelers.
Suzhou Creek flows across the Shanghai metropolitan area and has been a witness to the city’s transformation.
Along with the Huangpu River, the smaller creek is a “mother river” of Shanghai. It originates from Guajing Creek, Jiangsu Province, and joins the Huangpu River at Waibaidu Bridge after running 125 kilometers.
