Suzhou Creek cruise trip adds 2km to route

A cruise service along Suzhou Creek has been extended this month by 2 kilometers. The round-trip route now stretches 21km and takes three hours to complete.
Boats run four times a day between the docks on Danba Road and Changhua Road in Putuo District and Waibaidu Bridge in Huangpu District. The route passes through six districts and the Bund, officials said.
Cruise operators said it travels under 12 bridges and passes several historical buildings, including the former Shanghai Flour Co and Sihang Warehouse.
The service was launched in April 2010. Tourists can choose two types of boat — a covered vessel with room for 25, or an open-air version with room for nine.
A round-trip ticket costs 210 yuan (US$33.50).
