Fan Xiaoyan was awarded a Shanghai Excellent Youth Volunteer by the Shanghai Red Cross on March 20. She joined a stem cell donation program seven years ago and earlier this year her sample matched a leukemia patient from Zhejiang Province. She volunteered to donate her stem cells to the girl and became Putuo District鈥檚 16th stem cell donator. There have been 328 cases of stem cell donations in Shanghai. A total of 2,200 volunteers have joined the stem cell donation program in Putuo.
