Attractions offer half-price entry
THE popular Happy Valley theme park is offering half-price admission today and tomorrow to celebrate its seventh anniversary. Visitors to the park may buy tickets for just 115 yuan (US$17.20) per person.
From this Thursday to Saturday and from September 23-25, visitors to the night safari attraction in the park will also enjoy half-price admission — 50 yuan booked on the park’s official WeChat platform.
The 18-minute grand water show is staged at 7pm every day through the end September. It’s a combination of water fountains, lasers, music, lights, 3D technology and firecrackers.
In July and into August, Happy Valley and its sister attraction, the Shanghai Maya Water Park, have logged 1.25 million visitors, an increase of 10 percent from last year. Revenue has risen 13 percent, even after the much-touted Shanghai Disneyland opened as new competition in June.
The Songjiang Tourism Festival began last Saturday. Five other scenic sites in the district will be offering half-price admission today through Friday. They are the Shanghai Chenshan Botanic Garden, Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park, Shanghai Film Park, Fangta Park and Zuibaichi Park.
