Bridge halves slot in place with new tech

TWO halves of the Wenxiang and Lianyang Bridge, each weighing 2,300 tons, were successfully joined to create an overpass on the busy G60 Highway.
The project, located in the Songjiang Industrial Park, used a new bridge-joining technique called 貌swing connection.贸 The procedure didn?t require the closure of the highway below.
The joining took about 12 hours. Each half was swung accurately into place on a giant turntable 6.4 meters in diameter.
The bridge links Songjiang New City with industrial parks in Shanghai?s east.
