Center coordinates local volunteers
THE Fangsong Community Volunteers Service Center recently began operations, providing a base for more than 5,100 local volunteers.
The volunteers are divided into 170 teams, providing medical help, legal advice, environmental protection guidance and care for the disabled, the elderly and migrant families.
Locals who want to join the teams can register at the center.
Volunteers receive training and can attend lectures given by university professors and experts from all walks of life, including judges, lawyers and psychologists.
One of the highlights of the center is its "time bank."
Volunteers care given credits according to the number of hours they give. Each volunteer has an "account," and those with the highest numbers of credits are honored.
