Development along Metro begins work

A mega property project that will provide affordable housing for up to 45,000 families north of Sheshan Hill began recently.
The project covers almost 4.3 million square meters and will include 12 kindergartens, four primary schools, four middle schools, one high school, three community medical centers, a hospital, a home for the elderly, three sports centers, three cultural activities centers as well as three community welfare facilities.
The development will also retain natural scenery in the area.
It will be located astride Metro Line 9, providing easy access to transportation.
Five roads will be built connecting the community to downtown areas of Songjiang and the center of Shanghai, officials said.
