Greater growth in high-tech corridor
The G60 High-Tech Corridor is driving the Yangtze River Delta region toward higher-quality integrative growth, according to a recent conference on synchro-development of nine cities in the area.
Representatives from Songjiang District, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Jinhua and Huzhou in Zhejiang Province, Suzhou in Jiangsu Province and Xuancheng, Wuhu and Hefei in Anhui Province jointly published the “Songjiang G60 High-Tech Corridor Declaration.”
A batch of industrial cooperation projects and industrial park construction projects were also signed during the meeting.
As a forerunner of regional synchro-development driven by science and technology, Songjiang is promoting the G60 High-Tech Corridor, a synchro-developing region connected by the G60 Expressway, from the 2.0 version to a higher 3.0 version.
In early 2016, Songjiang launched the 1.0 version G60 High-Tech Corridor development within the district by focusing on innovation, industrial reconstruction, investing in advanced manufacturing industry and exerting regional leadership.
Last year, the district launched a 2.0 version of corridor development by cooperating with governments from Hangzhou and Jiaxing.
Together they explored how to establish a regional cooperative mechanism by connecting innovation, industrial and value chains.
A number of 118 high-tech enterprises were set up in the district together with research centers such as Sadie Advanced Manufacturing Research Center, Zhejiang-Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, Shanghai Academy of Low Carbon Technologies and Shanghai Stock Exchange Center G60 Branch.
The 3.0 version of corridor development will see the region expand horizontally along the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou-Hefei Intercity Railway to include Suzhou, Huzhou, Xuancheng, Wuhu and Hefei cities.
Industrial parks in the nine cities will form a coalition to build themselves cross-regionally.
Sci-tech enterprises within the Yangtze River Delta region will also deepen their cooperation.
According to the agenda agreed in the meeting, the nine cities will further build up four world-renowned industrial clusters, five national industrial clusters and several leading industrial clusters along the G60 High-Tech Corridor.
