THE waste landfill on Maixin Road will be shut for a 160-day renovation project to install rainwater pipes, watertight film and gas collection and treatment systems.
The area will also get a green landscape makeover.
During the construction, local officials said, the landfill may emit some noxious odors because some garbage will be exposed to the air. They apologized for any public inconvenience and said they will try to keep the odors to a minimum.
