Mall turns itself into super site
Dongming Plaza is transforming itself into Songjiang’s largest shopping complex. In its latest facelift project, a whole floor is devoted to fine dining, and a large section is devoted to fashion sportswear.
The 300,000-square-meter plaza enjoys an advantageous location close to Songjiang University Town and the Shanghai No. 1 Hospital. It is serviced by four bus stops and two Metro stations. It is also within walking distance from almost 20 neighborhoods.
In order to attract more customers, the plaza has introduced a number of brand-name restaurants, including Awailou from Wenzhou, Shujingchuan, featuring spicy Sichuan food and owned by actor Pu Bajia, and the Fat Cat, which offers authentic Jiangsu cuisine.
The plaza’s first floor Scouts Zone has had its soft opening. It offers children one-on-one training in climbing, indoor bungee jumping and obstacle courses. It can accommodate up to 50 families at a time.
On the fourth floor, a chain youth hotel, a Rubik’s cube training center and gym have opened. In addition, spa and beauty parlors and a sportswear “city” will open during this year’s May Day holiday.
The plaza’s parking area can handle almost 2,000 cars. Its central square contains a greenbelt and an art gallery.
