Teaching group set for one-year term in Tibet

A second group of eight teachers from Songjiang District have set out to fulfill their one-year term at Shanghai Experimental Middle School in Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region.
With an average altitude of 3,800 meters in Xigaze, the teachers will face challenges of a dry climate, thin air, big temperature fluctuations between day and night, and on top of that, they will teach new students from a totally different cultural background.
Teachers have received training for the program, including a visit to the training of the female football鈥檚 team of the school in Shanghai, and they were briefed on the school鈥檚 teaching and research, moral education, the development of education in Xigaze, and information on the aided schools in the region.
They also learned that the first group of the program鈥檚 teachers achieved good results, listened to lectures about the educational difference between Shanghai and Tibet, and attended a seminar on the prevention of altitude sickness.
