Two new primary schools set to open
SONGJIANG is opening two new schools this year, with classes due to start after the summer holidays.
Sijing Primary School affiliated to East China Normal University in Sijing Town will comprise eight buildings, including a library, sports stadium and canteen.
Construction on the project will be finished by the end of this month. The school will accommodate 36 classes, ranging from first grade to the preparatory grade of middle school.
Another school, Songjiang Primary School affiliated to Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, will be completed by the end of July. It will hold 48 classes from first grade to the prep grade.
The first group of 900 students will begin study in September.
Every building in the school complex will be connected by covered corridors, allowing students to move about in all weather.
