Exhibition features manga pirate boy and pals

A manga exhibition about 17-year-old pirate boy and his search for the treasure known as One Piece is underway at Metro City.
The famous manga titled “One Piece,” is one of the best-selling manga series in Japan and has influenced children and teenagers around the world for 16 years.
It’s about the adventures of Monkey D Luffy who wants to become King of the Pirates, once he finds One Piece, and his adventures with his friends. Monkey has eaten a magical fruit, giving his body elastic properties.
It has been translated into more than 30 languages and adapted into an original animated series that has aired more than 600 episodes since 1998.
For the first time, the still-ongoing hit series presents a themed exhibition at Metro City.
Dolls of the main pirate characters, navigation scenes, installations of the animation and unusual props are displayed. Valuable original sketches written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda are on exhibit. Interactive games are offered.
“It is my favorite manga,” says college student Selena Weng. “The manga emphasizes the importance of family and friends. It also pays tribute to youth and dreams.
