TV companies are investing big money in the new reality series. Here are some of this summer’s popular favorites.
‘Go Fighting!’
“Go Fighting!” focuses on hot public topics set against different backdrops. It airs at 9:05pm every Sunday on Dragon TV. Participants are pop singers, veteran actors and comedians. The show is strong on the concept of masculinity. In every episode, celebrities chase each other down and compete in demanding challenges.
‘Up Idol’
“Up Idol” is an outdoor reality show that focuses on how popular actresses experience life in different social strata. It airs at 10pm every Saturday on Hunan Satellite TV. In the beginning of every episode, participants are divided into two teams. They range from the hottest current-day young movie stars back to the legends of the 80s.
‘Dad, Where Are We Going? III’
“Dad, Where Are We Going? III” is an outdoor reality show on Hunan Satellite TV. It is aired at 10pm every Friday. In the show, celebrity fathers pair up with their children to travel in China, experiencing life in rural areas, water towns and deserts. These dads shoulder the responsibility of taking care of the children as they complete assigned tasks.
‘The Amazing Race Season II’
“The Amazing Race Season II” is a reality game show brought in from CBS TV of the US. It broadcasts at 9pm every Friday on Shenzhen Satellite TV. Contestants include well-known pop singers, TV hosts, actors and athletes. In each episode, teams of contestants race around the world in competition to finish first after a series of challenges that eliminate teams who do poorly.
