Golden monkey seeks mate

A 12-year-old "leftover" male golden monkey at a zoo in a central Chinese city may able to end his bachelor life after two female golden monkeys recently joined him. Golden monkeys usually mate when they are around four years old.

But this male in Zhengzhou Zoo in Henan Province, has been having problems finding his love outside circle of relatives, who are too close to him genetically. The two females are from a zoo in Tingling, Anhui Province. Golden monkeys are a "first-class" protected species in China.

During the National Day Holiday, tourists born on October 1 and children under the age of 12 can visit Zhengzhou zoo for free.
