Hello Kitty tours melting ice caps

HELLO Kitty tours the melting Arctic and Antarctic ice caps with her friends and sees the effects of global warming in an exhibition for children and adults.

The cute Kitty White with a pink bow on her left ear is asked by Santa to visit the poles where she sees igloos, icebergs, polar bears, penguins, seals and other wildlife affected by rising temperatures.

The exhibition is underway through February 24 at Shanghai Joy City. It features eight, brand-new images of the cat and visitors can take pictures and join scenes.

Hello Kitty, a Japanese marketing phenomenon, was born in London in 1974, according to her biography.

Through photos and documentary video clips, visitors will see how polar ice sheets are melting, icebergs are breaking up, and living conditions are changing for land and marine animals.

Children can take pictures of and with the cat, take part in interactive games at an amusement park, and join a workshop making crafts.
