Musee d鈥橭rsay artworks arrive
THE exhibition “Paths to Modernity: Masterpieces from the Musee d’Orsay, Paris” at Shanghai’s Museum of Art Pudong will open to the public from June 19.
Marking the Musee d’Orsay’s largest exhibition in China to date and its exclusive global stop, this showcase will feature 107 authentic masterpieces from the museum’s collection.
The most highly anticipated paintings — “Van Gogh’s Room in Arles” by Vincent Van Gogh and “The Gleaners” by Jean Francois Millet — both classic masterpieces of Western art history, arrived in Shanghai last week. While “The Gleaners” was shown at the China Museum of Art in Shanghai in 2012, the Van Gogh piece will be on display in China for the first time.
