Soccer fest kicks off soon

FOOTBALL fans who don't go all the way to South Africa to enjoy the FIFA World Cup next month can enjoy the month-long games at a mini-football carnival in the Pudong New Area.

It's expected to be crowded with spectators glued to LED screens, players in their own soccer matches, and lots of soccer culture activities, like face painting and wild hair styles.

The first Football Carnival will kick off on June 11 at the Jinqiao Life Hub and run through July 12.

Fans can watch the games on huge LED screens, chat about the players and performances, take part in their own three vs three mini World Cup replica and generally enjoy football news, culture and uniforms.

At the Life Hub, fans can watch the games in an open square or garden balconies, enjoying fresh breeze instead of Africa's scorching heat. The cheering spectators make for an exciting atmosphere and heated debate.

Everyone is welcome.

The flowerbeds of the Life Hub will be converted to lawns to facilitate matches, elimination games and the Final 32 and Final 8.

The mini World Cup in Pudong will be awarded at the same time the trophy is conferred in South Africa.

Those who cannot wait to join the "Dream Team" can log on the Website www.jinqiaojinqiao.com and sign up.

The carnival is a showcase for football culture and art, including face painting, cool hairstyles and large football images made of balloons.

The numerous activities include training to develop football playing skills, football dress-up and fun for kid fans.
