Summer TV lineup boasts game and reality shows
TV viewers are expected to see a variety of game and reality shows this summer, a golden time slot for television. Some will emphasize wisdom and intelligence while others will be a physical test of stamina and team work featuring both celebrities and grass-roots people.
Tonight, the reality show about youth and dreams “One Heart Racing” will debut on Dragon TV at 9pm.
The show is the first of its kind in the country as it documents Chinese teenagers who compete in a series of physical challenges. The contestants include students from big cities, disabled children and students from poor villages. Differences of opinion and the passion of youth will be on full display.
On the evening of July 5 (9pm), the final of “So You Think You Can Dance” will be broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV.
All of the finalists have received training from mentors including Jin Xing and Aaron Kwok. Their dance moves in the final episode are expected to be more compelling, creative and visually stunning.
On July 13 at 9pm, Chinese Business Network (CBN) will launch a reality show about creativity. Creative ideas and products will be displayed in the program. The ones with big market potential will get funding and technical support.
Pop stars from different backgrounds will take part in a new weekly outdoor game show, “Running! Hero” on Dragon TV beginning on August 23.
They will form a team and partake in many outdoor game challenges. They will be expected to put aside differences and work together to complete various tasks.
