Suzhou online at your fingertips

LIVINGSU (www.livingsu.com) is now online. The comprehensive service website co-launched by Shanghai Daily and the Suzhou Municipal Information Office provides lifestyle information to all English speakers in the Yangtze River Delta, especially expatriates in Suzhou.

Suzhou expats now can visit the website to find out everything from the latest news to the nearest restaurant, all delivered with vivid pictures and in native English.

The website contains eight sections: News, City Guide, Columns, Accommodation, Dining, Arts & Stage, Travel, and Services. Event listings are updated regularly.

Whether you want to find a school for your child or a quiet coffee house for a good afternoon break, just browse the website. Before you know it, Suzhou will no longer seem so strange - you'll know it like your own hometown.

Besides basic lifestyle information, LivingSu provides a guide on investment and business affairs, helping you achieve career success.

LivingSu is interactive as visitors can contribute their own experiences about their life in the city. Excellent stories and experiences from users will be published and shared on the website.

The website has been in test operation for more than two months and already has hundreds of registered users. Most users have given positive feedback on the timely and accurate information. Some have already shared their own experiences of living in Suzhou and offered good suggestions on improving the website.

From the day it went live, livingsu.com immediately became the premier online source of Suzhou-focused English-language news and information ... it takes the best of local print media and puts it into an organically growing website.

It provides a fantastic opportunity for us foreigners, but could use one or two alterations and additions ... such as pull-down tabs on the navigation bar. This would make it easier to narrow searches on the home page.

Wu Yidan

Chinese, college student in English education major

I was amazed and gratified. Just like the slogan "Totally Suzhou at a click," it provides all kinds of practical information from which even I, a Suzhou native, can benefit a lot. I recommend maps for download (like a Metro map or a tourist map).

Yang Juan

Chinese, editor of Suzhou Review

I'm impressed by the general design, logo, background color and photos - very Suzhou. It's carefully tailored to the needs of foreign visitors.
