UK Songmen strike a chord

The UK a cappella group The Songmen will stage a concert on August 17, singing original works, movie theme song, ballads and standards, pop and sacred music.
The contemporary repertoire includes “Bright Eyes,” a theme song of British animated film “Watership Down,” “Stand by Me,” the Scottish “Skye Boat Song,” “Mr Bojangles” and “Londonderry Air.”
The award-winning group is noted for creativity and adapting modern classics, as well as for performing sacred music and compositions by Renaissance masters.
The group has won honors at prestigious competitions, such as the Tolosa International Choral Contest in Spain. In 2012 the group’s jazz album “Round Midnight” was nominated for best album at the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards.
