Jazz performers descend on Jing'an

RENOWNED jazz trumpeter Li Xiaochuan will join the JZ Symphony Orchestra to perform at Shanghai Center Theater on April 30, kicking off the third

JZ Spring Festival. The show will feature arrangement and conduction by Grammy Award winner Gast Waltzing and include a host of traditional

Chinese songs arranged for jazz.
This year's festival is organized around the theme "When Jazz Meets China" and will bring hundreds of performances from international and local

Acts to parks, commercial centers and select neighborhoods around Jing'an District.
Big names scheduled for the three-day event include jazz singer and violinist Petra Haden, Grammy Award winner Jesse Harris, and pianist and

Vocalist Jonas Seetoh.
On May 1-2, three main events will be happening at Jing'an Park, the square in front of Reel shopping center, and Jing'an Temple Square.
According to organizers, the abundance of free outdoor performances at this year's festival is intended to share the charms of jazz music with

The listening public.
The festival will also include games and a special free-exchange marketplace. Ukulele players and swing dancers will be present throughout parks

And streets in Jing'an as well.
