A ski, snow and seafood delight

hokkaido, one of the most popular destinations for skiing and entertainment. Hokkaido is located at the north of Japan, near Russia, and is on the coastline of the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean. Sapporo, the biggest city and the capital of the division in Hokkaido, is one of the places where tourists go for entertainment.
In Sapporo, there are many activities to do, such as visiting the Sapporo Beer Museum and the night scene in Suskino (a town beside Sapporo). The Sapporo Snow Festival held early in February has some unique winter events in Japan, and the 2018 Snow Festival will be held between February 5 and 12.
The Sapporo Snow Festival features spectacular snow and ice sculptures, and it attracts more than 2 million visitors every year. The festival is held on three sites, in Odori, Suskino and the Tsu Dome site. The Odori site is the main festive destination, and it is famous for its colossal snow sculptures, some of which are 25 meters wide and 15 meters tall.
The Odori site consists of more than 100 small snow statues and hosts several concerts and events. The Suskino site is named after the entertainment district, and has around 100 ice figurines. The Tsu Dome site has many snow slides, snow rafting and snow sculptures for climbing and playing. Inside the dome, there are many food stands and cultural activities.
Niseko is regarded as one of Japan’s premier ski resorts. It is also growing to become one of Japan’s most popular winter destinations. There are four resorts on the Niseko Annupuri Mountain which make up the Niseko United system. An extensive lift system reaches to 64 courses, and leads to the Niseko United. Niseko offers an unforgettable experience for snowboarders and skiers.
Hokkaido is becoming an all-winter heaven in Japan. It has noble ski resorts, and apart from outdoor activities, Hokkaido is also famous for its seafood, such as the King crab and sashimi. Hokkaido is a great winter holiday destination.
