Anticipating exciting new experiences

AS we head toward graduation day, we are realizing how little time we have before our lives change. Many of us will leave Shanghai and go to a new country and city to start the next exciting chapter of our lives, which is why we want to make these last few weeks here count.

Reflecting back on my time at Yew Chung International School, I think about all the fantastic trips and events from my high school years, such as the Thailand trip in Year 12, an experience I’ll always remember. I’ll also never forget my teachers. I have cherished the opportunity I’ve had in Shanghai and at YCIS to meet so many people of different nationalities and cultures, which will undoubtedly prepare me for life in university.

At the moment, a large number of my Year 13 classmates have received their replies and offers from universities, which is a combination of both happiness and anticipation at the same time. Receiving an offer is thrilling, as we are glad that all the hard work that we have put into our learning is rewarded, and it is also an acknowledgment of the fact that next year we are going to be the ones making our own decisions.

In order to make our last moments of high school in Shanghai count, we have organized social events, such as our prom, as a way to bring all of us together for the last time. While we will all miss our high school time at YCIS, we are all also excited about the future that awaits us.
