Helpful advice for making the most out of air travel

Remember when you have just been through hours of torture on a plane because of things you thought were not to happen? If you don’t, I do. Not only once or twice, but in fact many times. And especially travelling during public holidays, planes are packed and many will push their way through. I remember having this terrible experience and I could only blame myself. Mistakes were made and I had regrets, and conclusions that I learned from them. I hope to share this experience with you, so here’s what happened, what I’ve learnt and things I actually wished I had known before going on-board. Maybe one day it’ll help you.

Truthfully, I have many troubles on flights. I am always placed to the back of the plane and can only be among the last few getting off the plane. My phone always dies not long after scrolling social media, even before I get on the plane. Although that had happened many times, I take it for granted.

However, there was one flight that changed how I packed before going on-board. The flight was delayed for hours. My phone had died, and I was getting hungry without food in my bag.

From then on, I got certain things checked before going on-board or even before heading to the airport. Twenty-four hours before flight departure I would be sitting in front of a device letting me online, to do an online luggage check-in and maybe choose a seat on the plane. A seat as front as possible will help. After landing, get off the plane as fast as possible, you would prefer not to wait in line while going through immigration. Most importantly, charge our most-used electronics. Having a night flight and charging it in the morning isn’t enough. Charge your device fully just before leaving the house, pack your connecter with a USB input in your hand-carried bag. Some planes provide in-seat power and you might want to charge it there. Pack edibles, basically for emergency or when you want something to bite on.
