EVERY year, all the schools in and around Shanghai organize a “welcome back” party.
As many people go abroad for the summer holidays or even leave to study in another country, parents and kids don’t get to see each other for a couple of months. In addition to this many new people settle in Shanghai for a new life. The “welcome back” party was designed for everyone to gather and exchange the adventures they had recently experienced.
Also, many people go to meet new people and create a more varied cultural community. These parties are held by various schools around Shanghai like BISS and SAS. They often have a band, so that people can listen and sing along; a buffet or stand with drinks, food and other goods and lastly they have an area of free space where people can talk and have fun as they wish.
