School years a beautiful mosaic of memories

SLEEPLESS nights, suffocating stress, growing addiction to coffee, studying anywhere and sometimes everywhere and for the most part, teetering on the brink of exhaustion have all led up to this defining day.

It’s like math, where all the moments, whether they be good or bad, add up to create a perfect bittersweet memory. The walk across the stage to receive a handshake and a diploma from the principal signifies an end. It is a day students have been looking forward to since they learnt how to read and write.

Graduation signifies growing up, and the maturing of a person. It not only signifies the completion of all the hard work over the first 12 years of schooling, but it also the peak of maturity. Schooling is an essential part of one’s growth. It’s also essential in preparing a student for his or her role in future work and family settings. My own upcoming graduation has increased my appreciation for the trials I’ve been put through and the rewards I have received at the end of each challenge I mastered. The ups and downs with friends, the challenges faced with assignments that had to be completed on time, the strong bonds that were gradually formed with teachers and staff of the school — all now cumulates to create a beautiful mosaic of memories.
