Special class of graduates

SPRING has finally “sprung” in Shanghai and that means saying farewell to another group of graduates. At WISS, every group of graduates is special. There is sadness mixed in with excitement as we wish them the best for their future. Right now, the class of 2016 is completing their IB Diploma with not just a little certitude.
How lucky are we as educators to be able to walk along with them and share their triumphs and tribulations.
Our actual graduation ceremony will be held on June 17, which is a wonderful opportunity to look back at our students’ time at WISS. We have had ringside seats watching them grow in maturity, intellectual ability and physically. We will celebrate their triumphs and remind them that all of those long hours and hard work were worth it. More than that, we will look ahead and celebrate. These students will indeed be missed. Their diversity is impressive: some are more talented artists and some more gifted scientists; some are rather quiet and others boisterous; but all of them have impacted our community and will remain in our hearts long after they’ve left our school.
