A new take on 鈥楽wan Lake鈥 and its 32 fouettes
EVER since its debut in 1877, Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” has been presented in many different stage versions. The touching storyline, poetic dance and infectious melodies have made it a classic.
Although every year the ballet is performed by hundreds of troupes around the world, this version of the Russian State Ballet is considered enchanting and visually stunning.
The troupe’s interpretation which retains the traditional flavor of the original includes more creative and difficult moves. The evil black swan’s 32 fouette turns in one move is one of the highlights.
This version also boasts a brand-new ending to the story and in-depth portrayal of its characters. Adapted from a Russian folk tale, “Swan Lake,” centers on Princess Odette who is turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer.
Over the past decade, the show has been hailed by audiences in many countries for its elegance and the complexity of the dance moves.
The Kemerovo Regional State Philharmonic Society’s symphony orchestra will provide the accompaniment.
