Animamix Biennale opens up new concept of art

An exhibition dedicated to 鈥淎nimation + Comics鈥 is under way at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art through August 28.
Supported by several high-profile art organizations that includes The Macau Museum of Art, Luxelakes鈥4 Art Museum, Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art, Hong Kong Visual Art Center, and Art:1 New Museum, Jakarta, the 鈥淎nimamix Biennale鈥擝allade鈥 (2017-2018) features the works of 26 artists who are active in the development of the contemporary Animamix.
The exploration produced by Animamix Biennale 鈥 from artist Song Ling鈥檚 poetic portraits, Wu Junyong鈥檚 abstract empires and rare beasts, Ma Liang鈥檚 intriguing puppet show, to artists Zhou Xiaohu, Lu Pingyuan and Xu Min鈥檚 new media installation which uses light, shadow, video and sculptures 鈥 looks to the aesthetic development of the future and reflects on contemporary social culture, the digital world, bioengineering, digital media and interactive gaming.
One highlight of the display is the game 鈥淧aused-Mind Zone.鈥
By 2310, the 鈥淰irtual Migration鈥 will be completed, organic life will be extinct, and the total online number of Paused-Mind Zone鈥 will match the total number of mankind. 鈥淧aused-Mind Zone鈥 upgrades and becomes the 鈥淧lanet of Consciousness.鈥
With its rich stories and unique interactive design, 鈥淧aused-Mind Zone鈥 allows the visitors to travel between the virtual world and the real world.
Gong Mingguang, director of the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art, says 鈥渢he aim of the Animamix Biennale is to open up a new concept of art for the public from the perspective of 鈥榯raditional narrative method plus contemporary story content.鈥欌
