IT’S time for spring outing. In Jiading there are numerous areas to enjoy blooming flowers, farmer’s fun and other scenes of nature. Shanghai Daily recommends four places to bring you closer to nature.
Lijiang Field Culture Travel Festival
Check out a sea of golden rape flowers. Visitors can pick their own strawberries and try food made by farmers.

Peony Flower Show at Guyi Garden
Peonies are sometimes referred to as the “king of flowers.” In ancient times, scholars and educated people were “so eager to see blooming peonies that the whole city seemed to be crazy during the 20 days around the blossoming period.” Two century-old peonies in Guyi Garden are expected to blossom in due time. Visitors will have the chance to admire the flowers.

Jiading Wisteria Park
There are more than 90 wisteria plants imported from Japan in the park. The purple flowers bloom every spring. The annual festival is rather popular.

Maoqiao Village in Huating Farm
Huating Farm is an agricultural park. Every spring visitors can watch the treating and sowing of cantaloupe melon seeds. In April, fishing is a popular leisure activity. In May, large amounts of vegetables are available for visitors to pick.
