鈥楩airy Tales And Poems鈥
ARTIST Yan Xiaoqian’s latest solo exhibition opens today at Noeli Gallery featuring a merge between European fairy tales with Chinese classical poems into pictures that draw on the traditions of Oriental art. The atmosphere of Yan’s art is sentimental yet not melancholy. Yan believes fairy tales offer us access to an idealized fantasy world, while Chinese poems attempt to show the reality behind the fairy tales. In her paintings, viewers can find beautiful and poetic scenes marked with imagination and affection.
