Kids get creative at charity art exhibition
A charity painting exhibition celebrating some of China’s most gifted children is being presented at Duoyunxuan Art Center.
Around 2,000 works from children artists are on display at the event organized by the Shanghai-based Oriental Kid’s Art and Shanghai Special Care Foundation.
The exhibition also offers an interactive area where the stories of Effendi, a legendary wise man, are being told.
The Effendi-themed animated series has influenced generations of Chinese people. It evokes nostalgia in many Chinese adults. Now the stories will be told to today’s children through a modern theater style.
Zhao Bing, founder of the Oriental Kid’s Art, said they hope to promote art education to more children around the country.
“The works on display are selected from about 10,000 candidates,” he said. “All these paintings show the children’s desire to express themselves as well as their potential in art.”
