Lisa Ono plans intimate performance

LISA Ono will perform her special concoction of romantic songs in Shanghai on Valentine’s Day.

Her “Love Today” concert will be staged at Shanghai Grand Stage.

“Shanghai is a romantic city, and I hope that my songs will offer couples a romantic and sweet memory of Valentine’s Day,” Ono says.

It will be the sixth time Ono has performed in Shanghai since appearing at the Jazz Festival 10 years ago, which opened a door for her to tour China.

The songstress is accompanied only by a piano, violin, flute and guitar. She believes her music can help spectators calm down and enjoy a beautiful moment filled with melody.

“Bossa Nova does not suit complicated stage settings. It is a quiet music with rich rhythm,” Ono says.

Therefore, she never worries that the simple stage set will bore everyone as the goal is to relax and listen to the deep melody and rhythm.

Ono says she will play a number of Chinese songs apart from her own tunes. Her set list includes the well-known Shanghai melody “Evening Primrose,” Teresa Teng’s “When Will You Come Again?” as well as Jacky Cheung’s “Blessing.”
